​Ironworks has been engaged in multiple projects for the client, including:

• Redesign and ongoing support of the client’s website
• Implementation of PerformancePoint for Business Intelligence
• Design and implementation of a Project Management Office for application migrations.

The client was seeking to implement a Business Intelligence solution to:

• Standardized dashboards and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track performance
• Track trends , compare current metrics , and conduct ad-hoc querying
• Provide a single location for all reporting and BI needs
• Intgerate the solution with an existing MOSS (SharePoint) implementation

Additionally, other business challenges the client were facing were:

• Limited business intelligence capabilities for an organization with $8 Billion in assets
• Lacked executive visibility across the enterprise for financial and manpower information
• Had limited standardization and project management processes for applications migrating to an approved network / Hosting environment and limited usage of SharePoint

​Ironworks was engaged to implement MS PerformancePoint to provide role specific dashboards, reporting, ad-hoc and performance management capabilities to support financial and personnel analysis across the client’s headquarters, regions, installations, and programs. As part of this engagement, Ironworks:

• Implemented MS Performance Point as the Business Intelligence platform
• Led key requirements and design activities
• Developed a Financial Data Mart that loads data via a web service/SSIS process
• Built an Analysis Services cube to support reporting and dashboards
• Created executive dashboards for measuring financial execution and manpower-related data in PerformancePoint
• Integrated with SharePoint providing a single point of entry for all BI and Reporting as it relates to the above subject area. In addition, it allows for the ability to post documentation, collect and share analyses, and log issues and comments from the different global geographies 
• Implemented project management practices and operational processes to manage the migration process and track status of applications.
  

​As a result of the Ironworks engagement the client now has:

• A BI Solution that is a robust, scalable, analytical system for exploring controls,  manpower,  obligations, expenditures, commitments, and performance metrics summaries by Headquarters, Regions, Installations and Programs
• Executive dashboards and reports for measuring financial management and manpower-related data
• A reporting tool that will provide the Commanding Officers the visibility of resources (manpower and financial) at the Installation level
• A consensus around an agreed upon source system of data that provides users with a common set of data and metrics
• Operational process to support and enhance the solution.
