Ironworks has worked with the client for over three years to bring their antiquated intranet from a static html site to a state of the art portal driven by content and knowledge management with single sign-on capabilities. Ironworks provided a PMO for the initial implementation of Fatwire’s Content Management System, and then worked with the client’s senior leadership to grow a Corporate Intranet Program. Ironworks managed the details of the projects to implementation and developed the tools used to manage the budget (over 15M) and schedules of the program effectively.
Most recently, Ironworks has been managing the Corporate Intranet Agile Pilot. As one of the first the client’s Agile projects, the Ironworks project manager worked with the Agile thought leaders and Solutions Delivery Methodology Quality Assurance group to determine the processes required for Agile projects. The Corporate Intranet Agile project is unique in its ability to make enhancements to BEA’s portal, Fatwire’s CMS and the legacy static html content. Additionally, we worked with the business to consolidate ownership of all three applications to a owner. Adding to the complexity of developing three technologies was collaborating with resources from two offshore companies and several local consulting firms. Despite these challenges, the team has proven to be extremely efficient and has delivered business benefit every 3-6 weeks.
