CCF consists of an international office, two advocacy offices, three regional offices, and thirty-one national offices geographically dispersed around the world. CCF faced significant challenges with usage and adoption of its existing Intranet site and sought a more reliable and extensible solution to disseminate and share information across these offices, as well as, to provide a platform for improving social networking and organizational connectivity.
The purpose of this project was to develop and implement a new CCF intranet to be used by all Christian Children Fund employees worldwide as the single source for information, content and document storage. The chosen architecture is one that will significantly leverage MOSS 2007 technology, which was identified by CCF as a technology platform of choice for future growth and business team collaboration needs worldwide.
Ironworks Consulting, a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, worked with CCF’s Interactive Communications and IT teams to design, deploy, test and implement an Intranet infrastructure consisting of Microsoft technology investments. This Intranet site solution is comprised of core MOSS 2007 and Microsoft SQL Server 2005 services and functionality and leverages the Ontolica for MOSS 2007 product for cross-site CCF employee, content and photo searches.
Engagement highlights include the installation and configuration of MOSS 2007 and SQL Server 2005 in the CCF production environment, as well, as the development and deployment of custom web parts, site templates, master pages, page layouts and custom HTML styles in support of a MOSS 2007 site collection consisting of over 75 sites. Ironworks provided content migration support, as well as, training and documentation to prepare CCFHub end-users, super users, and administrators for the production deployment. Additionally, Ironworks worked closely with CCF to lay the governance framework for CCFHub.org and underlying Intranet site properties.

Through the successful implementation of CCFHub.org, CCF has realized the benefits in the following areas:
- A more intuitive and easy to use Information Architecture
- Improved ability to collaborate and share information with other groups or offices
- Ability to provide navigational content in French, Spanish, and Portuguese
- Improved ability to find people within the organization
- Single sign-on functionality
- Increased organizational transparency
- Increased social networking and improved organizational learning
Additionally, CCF is now prepared to create, configure and administer additional sites and MOSS 2007 components within their newly deployed Intranet framework.
